Connecting Healthcare stakeholders in the Greater Pittsburgh Area

City & State PA’s regional Healthcare Summits offer industry executives, public sector leaders and academics the ideal setting to foster partnerships between government and the private sector to improve the delivery of healthcare services. We will hear from policymakers, healthcare organizations and advocacy groups within the healthcare industry in two separate panel discussions. Attendees will learn about the solutions for the region's eldercare crisis, innovations in primary care delivery, new programs to support our most vulnerable populations, and innovations in healthcare technology.

The Greater Pittsburgh Healthcare Summit will seek to address these topics and more. All of City & State's policy summits offer industry executives, public sector leaders and academics the opportunity to debate critical issues and develop solutions that will benefit all stakeholders.

Panel 1: Digital Health: The Intersection of Technology and Healthcare

From telemedicine and wearable devices to mobile care delivery, the impact of digital health on Pittsburgh’s healthcare industry has been revolutionary. Providers now have the tools to deliver better patient care and reduce costs, and patients can manage their healthcare more effectively from the comfort of their homes – but what are the implications for the continued synthesis of healthcare and technology? Our panel will tackle the health equity challenges related to our rapid adoption of digital health. How can we ensure this same level of care is delivered throughout the Greater Pittsburgh region? How will our healthcare providers and insurance companies navigate these changes, and what kind of support will they need from state and local government leaders?

  • Moderated by: Mike Stancil, CEO & President, Pittsburgh Business Group on Health
  • Representative Bridget Malloy Kosierowski, Pennsylvania House of Representatives
  • Representative Paul Schemel, Pennsylvania House of Representatives

Panel 2: Aging and Vulnerable Communities & Caregiving Crisis

The Great Resignation, the economy, and unprecedented income opportunities for lower-wage earners has caused a severe shortage in caregivers for our most vulnerable populations. How are government agencies at local and state levels responding, what are providers doing to retain existing employees and attract new ones, and what role can family members trained as caregivers play in ensuring that our most vulnerable Pennsylvanians are protected and thriving?
