How have you changed your approach to better serve older policyholders?

As President of Medicare Markets, I have strengthened our focus on whole-person care in recognition of the fact that older adults on both Medicare and Medicaid often face complex medical and social needs. We have expanded in-home and virtual care options, enhanced care coordination, and invested more in addressing social determinants of health like transportation and food insecurity. By partnering closely with community organizations and caregivers, we’re creating more personalized, accessible, and proactive care that helps our members age with dignity, safety, and independence.

Have federal policy changes impacted how you do business?

Federal policy changes have accelerated our focus on Medicare and Medicaid integration, especially for dual-eligible individuals who often navigate fragmented systems. The Centers for Medicare &Medicaid Services (CMS) initiatives have prompted us to increase our efforts to streamline benefits, improve data sharing, and strengthen care coordination. This integrated approach reduces duplication, improves health outcomes, and allows us to manage the individual’s care more holistically across both programs.

What should older Pennsylvanians know about AmeriHealth Caritas?

Pennsylvanians should know that AmeriHealth Caritas health plans are mission-driven and focused on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to Medicaid and Medicare members. With deep roots in the community we serve, we address both medical and social needs ─ such as food, housing, and transportation ─ to support whole-person health. Through strong local partnerships and an integrated care model, we help our members navigate complex systems, improve outcomes, and live healthier lives.
